A precursor to modern-day museums, the Wunderkammern (Cabinets of Curiosity) were exhibits of private collections showcasing exotic and ordinary memorabilia and artifacts. Sitting at the crossroads of science and superstition, man-made and natural, they were believed to capture and display the owner's aesthetic and academic interests and represent his or her social status. This exhibition celebrates the personal artistic collections of the Southern California Collage Society members, creating a Wunderkammern for the whole community to enjoy.
