Ontario Reads Jurassic Park: Read It. Share It. Discuss It.

The Ontario City Library invites readers to participate in Ontario Reads Jurassic Park by Michael Crichton starting August 13, 2018 through October 13, 2018.  Copies of the book will be available for checkout at the Ovitt Family Community Library and Colony High Branch Library.  The Library encourages all readers to read and discuss Michael Crichton’s book with their family, friends and neighbors.  Both Library locations will provide games and activities for all ages based on the novel.

On Thursday, October 11, 2018 at 6:30 PM, there will be a special presentation at the Ovitt Family Community Library.  Paleontologist Gabriel-Philip Santos from the Raymond M. Alf Museum of Paleontology will discuss “How We Know What We Know: Paleontology and Dinosaurs.”  Light refreshments will be served.  Also at 6:30 PM, there will be a Dino Party for children to enjoy, which will feature digging for fossils, crafts and storytelling.

At Colony High Branch Library, come play “What Dino Are You?” with the whole family and find hidden dinosaur eggs throughout the Branch Library and claim a prize!

Programming for Ontario Reads will also occur at the Ontario Museum of History & Art on Thursday, October 18, 2018 at 6 PM with a dinosaur themed art class.  Come join the Museum and learn how to paint a friendly dino.

For more information about these activities and more, contact the Ovitt Family Community Library at (909) 395-2004, Colony High Branch Library at (909) 395-2256 or visit www.ontarioca.gov/library.
