Spotlight Gallery: Art in Metal (Exhibit On Display)
November 22 @ 12:00 pm - 4:00 pm
An event every week that begins at 12:00pm on Sunday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, repeating until November 24, 2018
Working in copper, brass and steel, I create three-dimensional representations of plants and animals and two-dimensional studies of geometric patterns. My art has a practical genesis – as a young man I was temporarily employed as an ornamental iron fabricator. After a change of career and a 40-year hiatus from working with metal, I took it up again in 2012 in retirement. Since then, I honed my techniques and became familiar with the properties and limitations of the materials and processes I use. My work has evolved through experimentation and ever-changing interest in subject matter.
